Conlons Contact Lens Opticians and members of staff from their Wigan branch recently visited the new state of the art factory of UK Contact Lens Manufacturer Sauflon. Like Conlons, Sauflon are an independent and family-run business who pride themselves on innovation and quality. Although Sauflon have manufacturing plants and R&D based in the UK, due to recent expansion, they recently set up a new facility with state of the art machines in Budapest, Hungary as well. Conlons’ staff were delighted to visit this and see how Sauflon’s latest technology of silicone hydrogel lenses are made. What we saw was an impressive set up with a dynamic and flexible new plant which highly sophisticated robotics through-out the facility. The emphasis on quality control was staggering.
