Founded by a gifted French fashion designer, Gabrielle "Coco" Chanel. Chanel's clothes industry grew from a small business to a large one in a short space of time. This was thanks to Chanel's gifted ability to be able to tell what customers wanted. Few would claim this as a gifted ability, however, not many were able to achieve the success Chanel gained between 1900 to 1910. Chanel became one of the biggest clothes lines in France.
Life is never an easy ride and Chanel found herself in a situation where she had to rebuild her life, her image, her company and her name again. After the 1950s, she pulled through and her career and clothes line was reintroduced to the public. Over time, many well known designers worked with or for the Chanel brand including the famous Karl Lagerfeld.
