| Most metal, rimless and semi-rimless frames have adjustable nose pads. This means that unlike with the fixed bridge found on most plastic frames we can fine-tune the fit of the bridge to your nose. If your nose is particularly wide or narrow, has a very high or low bridge, or if your nose has been broken in the past and is now asymmetrical, we would recommend adjustable nose pads to get the best fit. Additionally we recommend a frame with adjustable nose pads for varifocal lenses so that the position of the lenses can be fine tuned once the glasses are made up.
If you are changing from a fixed “saddle” type bridge that contacts the skin all the way round to adjustable pads you may find the smaller surface area leads to a little discomfort initially. To minimise this choose the lightest frame you can find such as titanium or stainless steel. |
