A contact lens optician is a specialist dispensing optician who has studied further to gain extra qualifications in the fitting of contact lenses and the recognition of eye conditions that may affect contact lens wearers. Additionally optometrists are also qualified to fit contact lenses; however in most practices you are likely to see an optometrist for your eye test and spectacle prescription and then a specialist contact lens optician for your contact lens appointment.
