Dispensing advice

Once you have had an eye exam you have a wide choice of options to correct your vision – you choose between a whole host of spectacle lenses and contact lenses, not to mention hundreds of frames.  Our optical advisors and dispensing opticians will advise you on what is best for you taking account of your needs.  During your eye exam and afterwards we will ask you questions about your lifestyle and visual needs before making a recommendation.  It is helpful for us to know as much as possible about your lifestyle in order to give the best advice, but if you are not sure why we want to know something please do not hesitate to ask.

We need to know if you drive or use a computer, and rather than what your job is, we need to know what it actually involves.  For example the title “manager” has many different meanings when it comes down to what visual tasks the individual is likely to need help with.  Even the simplest of tasks such as reading or close work now have a number of options – plain reading lenses, or one of the many more modern enhanced reading lenses that are now available for more than just the close range.

We have dozens of bifocal designs and scores of varifocals each available in numerous lens materials ranging from standard clear plastic to slim-line, light weight and tinted lenses.  Our sophisticated computerised dispensing system will tell us what is available in your prescription and then we will guide you through your options to ensure you choose the best lenses for you, your lifestyle and your budget.
