Eye flashes are flashes of light in the eye possibly triggered naturally when the vitreous gel in the eye rubs on the retina. However it can also be triggered by disease or ageing. The flashes of light can be in different shapes and can last a long time. Eye flashes will happen to everyone during their lifetime. Eye flashes that happen with a headache are caused by the migraine and will disappear when the migraine has disappeared. Eye flashes can sometimes happen during exercises. When the eye flashes occur for no particular reason and for a lengthy period of time, then you should consult a doctor or optician as soon as possible.
Eye floaters are little particles floating adrift in your vision. Usually noticed when you are feeling light-headed or when looking directly at a bright light background. They float around the vitreous fluid in the eyeball so are often confused with dust particles entering the eye. The only difference is these eye floaters cannot be removed by simply rubbing the eye. Everyone will experience eye floaters in their lives as they are natural. They pose no risk to the body. The only time to consult the doctors is when the particles increase in numbers rapidly and a loss of vision is apparent. |
