NHS vouchers

Many of the people who are entitled to an NHS eye test are also entitled to help with the cost of glasses or contact lenses.

You can get a voucher towards the cost of your glasses or contact lenses if you are aged:

• under 16
• 16, 17 or 18 and in full time education

Or if you (or your partner) receive the following benefits:

• Income Support
• Pension Credit Guarantee
• Income based Jobseekers Allowance
• Tax Credit (and you are named on a valid NHS Tax Credit Exemption Certificate)

You can also get an NHS voucher towards glasses or contact lenses if you:

• are named on a valid HC2 certificate

There are strict rules on how often we can test your eyes and how often an optical voucher can be issued. Please ask for further information.

If you claim entitlement to an NHS voucher you will be asked to provide evidence. You may also be asked for your National Insurance number and your doctor's name and address.

All Conlons stores have 100’s of free frames that are available complete with light weight plastic lenses in exchange for an NHS voucher. Alternatively you can pay towards better designer frames and spectacle lenses.
